Less than two months left in mitten season

Image
Although, truth be told, it hasn't been much of a winter, not by Minnesota standards. Maybe people aren't too worried about missing gloves or mittens, but what about a flip-flop? Yes, a flip-flop, you'd think someone would notice if they lost a shoe, I know I would. I think it's so nice of people to pick up the hat, mitten or glove, and put it on some kind of dais, with the hopes that the owner will come back for it. The snow and ice recede to reveal evidence of a monopod.

A list of my lists

Image
I was joking with a friend that I need a list for all of my lists (or action items as another friend called them today), and then proceeded to list all of them for her. Needless to say, it was inspirational 😎 In the hopes of inspiring you, or at least getting my friends to understand me a little better, here are the types of the lists (if you're interested, I'd be happy to send you a copy). Sometimes I use a pre-existing list, for other interests, I compile the list. I have one list with several sublists for my movies: 1) a list of nominated films yet to watch from 2009 (when I started tracking) - 2015, they are deleted as they are completed. (46) 2) all winners, with the dates I have watched and if it's been blogged (753) 3) the BBC Best 100 American films (who made this list, I do not know, but they should be flogged) (21 to go) 4) the American Film Institute (AFI) 100 Best Films (four remaining) 5) the National Film Registry which gets added to every year -

MIA - Minneapolis Institute of Arts - Martin Luther Exhibit

Image
MIA (formerly known as the Minneapolis Institute of Arts) has two or three (four?) major exhibits a year. They bring in thousands of people to see the Terra Cotta Warriors, Impressionists, artifacts from the Hapsburg Empire and this winter, artifacts from the life of Martin Luther. Non-flash photography was allowed, in case you were going to chastise me. Here are just a few of the hundreds of year old carvings and paintings (many by Lucas Cranach the Elder and Younger) that will be on display through next week.
